The Shockwave! Was founded in February 2010 by lead guitarist Jay J & rhythm guitarist Marko Rahikainen. Bass player Jesse K. was found from a rockabilly band B. Cupp & The Strapless Trio where Jay J also plays lead guitar.

The Shokwave! practiced at first with various different drummers, before they found Joose Gröhn as their full time drummer in the band. Now the lineup was complete and The Shockwave! were ready to take on stages in Finland and abroad. The band’s mission is to spread the old school surf to the world, mixed with influences taken from Japanese Eleki instrumental music. The band members have previously played in The Surf Wipes, The Charades & Life Giving Waters just to name a few
